Orange

Before Orange became part of our family, he survived on the streets.

Life outside was never easy. Food was scarce, shelter was uncertain, and every day brought new challenges. Yet despite everything he endured, Orange never lost his gentle nature.

When Orange finally found a home, he seemed to appreciate every meal, every warm bed, and every act of kindness. Perhaps it was because he remembered what life had been like before.

There was something special about Orange. He never appeared to take anything for granted.

Years later, when Macadamia and Pistachio first approached our house, Orange was one of the first to welcome them. While many cats are cautious of newcomers, Orange seemed more interested in making friends. He accepted them long before anyone knew they would eventually become part of our family.

Perhaps that was because Orange understood what it felt like to be the outsider.

Orange taught me that gratitude is more than saying thank you. It is appreciating what you have and remembering those who helped you along the way.

He taught me that kindness is a choice, even when life has not always been kind to you.

And he taught me that some of the warmest hearts belong to those who have experienced the hardest journeys.

Orange's lesson is simple:

Never forget where you came from, and never miss an opportunity to welcome someone else.
