Macadamia

Some cats demand attention. Macadamia never did.

A sleek black cat with a single white whisker, Macadamia preferred to observe the world from a distance. He was independent, quiet, and often seemed to move through the house like a shadow. While the other cats sought affection or companionship, Macadamia was content doing things on his own terms. He always slept in our room on top of the dresser. 

For years, he taught me an important lesson: not every relationship looks the same. Some cats show their love by curling up in your lap. Others show it simply by choosing to stay.

Macadamia wasn't unfriendly—he was selective. Trust was something he gave slowly and carefully, making every moment of affection feel earned. He reminded me that independence is not the absence of love, but another way of expressing it.

His passing came suddenly, leaving a space in our home that felt much larger than his quiet presence suggested. Yet the lessons he left behind remain. He taught me to respect boundaries, appreciate individuality, and understand that love doesn't always arrive in obvious ways.

Macadamia's lesson was simple:
